OpenGamma helps financial services firms evaluate, understand, and manage market risk in an open, transparent manner.
Our mission is to create transparent risk solutions, built on solid foundations, driving change in the capital markets.
2009. The global financial crisis has peaked. The industry has been structurally changed forever with decreased ROEs, increased regulatory reporting requirements, first principles changes in derivatives pricing, and dramatic reduction in the trading of exotic products. And that was before the budget cuts.
Yet firms across the industry are still supporting wasteful, expensive, non-differentiating software that doesn’t generate revenue or cut costs. Most of that is in the front-office and risk analytics area - the most expensive to build and maintain, the most standardized across firms in the post-crunch ecosystem.
The founders of OpenGamma see an opportunity. Backed by an elite group of venture capitalists, they set out to develop an open platform for analytics and risk management for the financial services industry.
Today, OpenGamma is working with some of the leading financial institutions in the world, allowing them to optimize their businesses in the evolving OTC markets with a transparent, future-proof risk platform. Using OpenGamma’s technology, customers are able to gain more insight into their underlying risk exposures, better assess the true costs of trading, and significantly expand the capabilities of their in-house IT resources.
Our goal is simple: create transparent risk solutions, built on solid foundations, driving capital markets change.
