
Kirk is OpenGamma's Chief Executive Officer and Chief Technology Officer.
Prior to co-founding OpenGamma, Kirk was the head of software architecture for the Front Office Technology division of KBC Financial Products. While there, Kirk was responsible for developing integration and interoperability solutions across KBCFP's disparate lines of business (including Convertible Bonds, Equity Derivatives, Structured Credit and Fund Derivatives).
Prior to KBCFP, Kirk worked for Smartspread, where he was responsible for building the initial analytics and risk management technology stack for Vega Asset Management, a multi-billion-dollar hedge fund management group.
Smartspread was Kirk's first foray into financial services, having started his career in Silicon Valley. While in California, Kirk worked for a number of technology firms, including Broadbase Software (now KANA), BEA WebLogic (now ORCL), Talking Blocks (now HPQ) and M7 (now ORCL). In addition, Kirk was co-founder and CTO of Radik Software, a database technology firm.
Kirk obtained his bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of California at Berkeley, where he did research as an undergraduate in the Database Research Group under professors Mike Stonebraker and Joe Hellerstein.

Elaine is OpenGamma's Head of Quantitative Development.
Prior to OpenGamma, Elaine was head of Quantitative Development at Smartspread. During her tenure at Smartspread, she coordinated all quantitative and risk modeling for Vega Asset Management and ProximaAlfa (PA), a joint venture between Vega and BBVA. While there, she worked closely with traders and risk managers to develop software capable of the full range of fixed income and equity derivative hedge funds managed by Vega and PA.
Elaine obtained her undergraduate, masters, and doctoral degrees from Imperial College, London. Her PhD thesis in the High Energy Physics department involved working on calorimetry for the CMS Detector at the Large Hadron Collider, CERN.

Jim is OpenGamma's Head of Platform Development.
Prior to OpenGamma, Jim was head of software engineering for Smartspread, managing and extending the analytics and risk management platform for Vega Asset Management and ProximaAlfa. Working closely with Elaine McLeod, Jim ensured that Smartspread's software platform was capable of satisfying the scalability and performance needs of all traders and risk managers in the firm, and remained flexible enough to support new instruments as quickly as they were traded.
Previously, Jim was the founder of Quickstone Technologies, an Angel-funded company to commercialize his PhD research on concurrent systems. Quickstone won a DTI SMART award for its code analysis tool and delivered several Java development tool products.
Jim obtained his undergraduate and doctoral degrees in Computer Science from the University of Kent in Canterbury. As part of his PhD research into concurrent systems, he was responsible for major developments in the Occam programming language and runtime environment.

Henning is OpenGamma's Head of Sales.
Before joining OpenGamma in early 2011, Henning was Head of Sales, Nordic region for FactSet Ltd. (FDS), a leading provider of financial data and portfolio analytics to both buy- and sell-side clients around the world. FactSet had several years of consistent growth in this region under his leadership, was repeatedly the fastest growing region of FactSet globally and established a strong position in the region with a loyal client base. Henning came to FactSet via the acquisition of StreamVPN, a company that pioneered the creation of trade ideas capture and equity sales performance tracking within the asset management sector, where he was the COO and Managing Director for Europe.
Henning also led the development of MoneyGator.com, another financial services startup with $20 million of venture capital funding. He has previous experience from Cable & Wireless Communication where he was Head of Business Development, and GE Capital, Global Consumer Finance group.
Henning received his BSc in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research from the University of California at Berkeley, and his MBA from INSEAD.
